Virtual Tour:
creature comforts & unusual features

The interior and systems design were done by those who are going to be living aboard 365 days a year and maintaining all the systems.

The "wet locker" though things don't stay wet for long with a double radiator in the locker ... it is a real joy to come on watch and put on dry foul weather gear

The heater powers four radiators and the hot water heater (for full time hot water in the high latitudes, instead of just when we're running the main engine). All the cabins (except the one next to the main heater) have a radiator.

The Engine Room door. The engine room is completely sound proofed, so it's possible to have a quiet conversation, even with the 115 HP main engine running flat out.

The genset - not your typical AC genset, but a DC one which can fully power the anchor windlass and keel winch in the event of engine alternator problems, and keeps the batteries topped up during days at anchor without the wasted diesel and noise of runinng the main engine.

Entrance to the crew area - engine room, larder/pantry, and electrical panel.

Pantry & Larder - on most boats, the primary food storage is under the saloon seats and everytime the cook wants something, he or she has to uproot the saloon. With a dedicated larder, you can stay put and enjoy the view

The main head. Watertight lockers and a US household style shower make for a great wash. (The blue tape on the head is to remind us not to use it - we took this photo while in a small cove so were using the other head which has a 65 gallon holding tank)

The Workshop. We have a dedicated workshop with a bench and a vise and a large array of tools and spares. (On the right is the watertight door into the forepeak.)
